Fishing Area:
Pump Station, Elephant Bay in 3- 4.5m of water and towards the mountain near the trees in the water. Be careful of tree stumps and old structures that are protruding, or just below the water surface.

Average Size:
Tiger Fish caught ranged from 800gr 2kg. Plenty small fish taking the bait which keeps things interesting and showing that the Tiger Fish are breeding well.

Other Conditions:
The Dam level has come up a bit which is good news! Fishing has improved with Sardines being the most effective bait, with chicken livers also proving successful. Fly fishing and trolling also worked well during April.

Total Tiger Fish:
An Average of 393 Tiger Fish were caught this month off the Pongola Game Reserve boats.

Barbel:
Plenty of Barbel were caught while fishing for Tiger Fish, also caught on sardine and chicken livers.

Bait of the Month:
Lures and spoons were not as successful as dead bait during April due to the increased water flow into the Dam.
